That’s right, governor hockey mom, Real Americans love the country more by subverting elections and undermining participatory democracy. Of course, being rabidly nationalistic is a strange trait in a woman who married a secessionist and spoke at secessionist… Read more
John McCain did not ask the Russians for campaign money. Neither did the Conservative Party in the UK. Just in case you were wondering, no Anglo-American conservatives asked for money from Russian conservatives. Nope, none at… Read more
You take a bunch of guys who want to be killers for hire, train them to kill, and then act shocked when they don’t stop killing when you tell them to. Am I the only person not suprised by… Read more
Dear Oprah; any woman who kills her child by leaving her in the car for eight hours while she eats doughnuts in her office did not make a mistake that could “so easily happen to any of you”, she is a negligent, self-obsessed unfit parent who deserves no… Read more
Hey, “plumber joe”, does it matter if your taxes go up if you don’t bother to pay them? Of course, you’re not really a plumber, and your name isn’t really Joe. Who exactly put you up to that… Read more
This is mind-bogglingly awesome. Cops beating up cops, striking cops beating up scab cops crossing the picket line, scab cops beating up striking cops for trying to negotiate. All we get here is millionaires arguing about who gets to screw the country up… Read more
More On Vegan Horticulture
Welcome to my own personal Vegan Month of Food. The idea is to write as much as you can for the month of October about vegan food. The blog entries can be about anything food related – your love of tongs, your top secret tofu pressing techniques, the first time your mom cooked vegan for you, vegan options in Timbuktu – you get the idea. The ultimate goal of my gardening is to be growing 100% of our calories on site, in a sustainable manner, in about five years. That is an idea that has many facets, several of I want to address during the Vegan Month of Food, as they relate directly to a vegan (As opposed to local, organic or whatever) diet. The first part is actually about organic foods, or how growing food for the vegan diet is different than plain old organic farming. You see, most organic produce is grown… Read more

Getting Started With The Vegan Month of Food
Welcome to the first entry in my own personal Vegan Month of Food. The idea is to write as much as you can for the month of October about vegan food. The blog entries can be about anything food related – your love of tongs, your top secret tofu pressing techniques, the first time your mom cooked vegan for you, vegan options in Timbuktu – you get the idea. Started by Isa over at the Post Punk Kitchen last year, I am pretty excited to be participating this year. I’ve got tons of stuff to talk about on the topic of vegan food. Of course, I am already a day behind here, it being the second of the month and all. I am pretending to have a good reason, and reason your name is food. You see, my take on vegan food this month may be a bit different than most. I am going to talk mostly, but not only, about growing your vegan food, and why every vegan should be growing some, if not all that they can, of their own food, as well as some of the trials and tribulations of trying to garden or… Read more
