A List of Fives

Well, it seems that blog memes still exist, since my friend Jeff tagged me with one. In the true spirit of blogging, I will now blindly jump on board and reveal several seemingly interesting but totally meaningless factoids about myself:

What were you doing five years ago?

Living at the beach.

What are five snacks you enjoy?

I’m not really much of a snack person; I like the production aspect of a proper meal too much to waste much eating on snacks, but I am occasionally partial to:

  1. a proper flapjack (not a pancake, a granola bar as God intended them to be);
  2. Cuban chocolate;
  3. Scottish shortbread;
  4. Walker’s Cheese & Onion crisps; and
  5. Curried Popcorn

What are five things you would do if you were a billionaire?

  1. Hire an accountant to keep me from being stupid with the money;
  2. Hire a law firm to get me out of being stupid with the money;
  3. Buy an apartment (building) in Paris;
  4. Endow chairs and scholarships in Philosophy at select universities (MIT, McMaster, Birkbeck); and
  5. Play $100 a hand blackjack at Caesar’s Palace until my eyes bled (from memory, this is about 35 hours…).

What are five of your bad habits?

  1. Saying “yes” before I think things through;
  2. Assuming that people want to know my opinion when they ask my opinion;
  3. Buying books faster than I could possibly read them;
  4. Navel-gazing (i.e. blogging); and
  5. Planning out in great detail possible futures I have no real interest in making a reality.

What are five places where you have lived?

  1. (various) North Carolina;
  2. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina;
  3. (various) Georgia;
  4. (various) Alabama; and
  5. Essex, England

What are five jobs you’ve had?

  1. Sous Chef;
  2. Agricultural Laboratory Technician III;
  3. Body Piercer;
  4. Web Developer; and most recently
  5. Apprentice Electrician

Five people I tag:

  1. Mark Loggins at Bloggins
  2. Steve at More Hockey Less War
  3. Lord Whimsy at The Affected Provincial’s Almanac
  4. Kate Hopkins at Accidental Hedonist
  5. Uncle $cam at American Samizdat
