No matter how much I tried to explain it, I couldn't find a Brit that could grasp that Bacon is a very fatty slab taken from the underside of a pig. Nothing else is properly Bacon. I was delighted to find that the Sainsbury's near me on Cromwell Road has started to sell "American style" bacon. I never thought the words *Oscar Meyer* would make my partner and I so happy.
