Bottled Water

There isn’t a product out there that is as silly (or cynical) as bottled still water. Sparkling water I can understand, it really isn’t available anywhere else, but bottled still water? Does anyone actually think that there is something better about it than plain old tap water?

Obviously, yes, quite a lot of people do. That doesn’t however mean that there is anything good at all about bottled water, regardless of what all of the mob rule cheerleaders think.

Bottled water is 1% convenience product and 99% marketing. Having a bottle of water with you wherever you go is convenient. Paying every time you want a bottle to put the water in and then throwing it away after one use is retarded.

Never mind the lack of inspection, regulation or testing. Never mind the cost of bottled water being somewhere north of gasoline. Never mind the enormous environmental impact of bottled water. Just keep thinking of how convenient it is to throw your money away buying the same reusable bottle over and over again.

You’ve never tried the tap water in Corpus Christie, eh?

Seriously, my family thinks that I am nuts for just refilling the dozen or so bottles that I have littered about the house and car. Some tap water does taste funky (nothing that a filter will not cure), but the bottles are a convenience thing, as you say, meant to be reused!

Hehe, you forget I now live somewhere with water so hard and funky that EVERY appliance comes with a shale filter :)
