Inspired (or should I say chastised?) by these two posts, I have been looking at ye olde blogge with a critical eye, and have decided to make some changes.
I have been guilty of cluttering up my blog, a blog that is supposedly about minimalism and simplicity. Not only are my posts all over the place, topic-wise, which may be forgivable given the personal nature of the thing, but there has been a distressing level of “blogger bling” strewn about the place.
So, now I am working on simplifying things a bit. The daily quotes and daily photos are gone from the entry list, moved to their own blogs and available from the sidebar. The sidebar itself has had a major overhaul, losing all of the unnecessary bits and retaining only those things I think might actually be useful; a way to subscribe, a way to search, some blogs I think you ought to take a look at, and the pictures and quotes, in a new, less obtrusive format.
There are some other things I am considering doing to freshen things up around here, but they are for later, and right now I am pretty happy with the new, cleaner look of the site. I you have any suggestions for other things I should do to nicen up the place, leave a comment or drop me an email.
