It is fashionable, and has been for some time now, to speak of the glories of Rome. I think it is worth remembering exactly what it is we are enumerating and celebrating by doing so. We are speaking of the things that comprised Rome, that allowed it to become a world (conquering) power: armies, roads, laws, officials, bureaucrats…
No one speaks of Roman philosophy, because they had none.
