Things are beginning to settle down now. We finally have a phone at the house, so if you had our US phone number, email me to get our shiny new UK one. ADSL will be active on Friday of this week, so I can finally stop squatting at the library…
Jen has started her new teaching job, yesterday actually, and I am waiting to hear back from a number of firms I farmed my CV to. Nothing is definite yet, but things are definately looking good on the ol’ employment front.
Chafford Hundred (the ‘housing estate’ we live on (not ‘in’, ‘on’)) is rather nicer than I thought it might be, so I am no longer quite so chagrined at the price we paid for our flat. There are plenty of bike paths and walking trails, and as bicycles are our sole means of non-public transport now, I am happy to report that the drivers here are quite considerate of bike riders. We are twenty minutes by train from Fenchurch Street rail station, next to the Tower of London. Needless to say, on the weekends we are not at home much right now.
Now, back to your (ir)regularly scheduled programming…
