The fact that I am opposed to the protestant work ethic does not mean that I am opposed to work. Thinking that would be as foolish as assuming that a person who crusades against prostitution is against the idea of sex.

The fact that I believe that Capitalism is not the “end of history” does not make me a Marxist. Marxism and Capitalism are both industrial age economies that will go the way of all economies of the past, forgotten into history as they are replaced by something that better suits the times.

The fact that I oppose consumerism does not mean that I am anti-capitalist. It means that I believe that consumerism and zero-sum industrial age thinking removes a mans potential as a citizen, reduces him to nothing but a consumer, a purchasing, producing automaton.

And yes, I am completely opposed to growth as a measure of soundness; growth for growth’s sake. Everyone can agree that Ponzi schemes are unethical and ultimately self-defeating unless you are the one at the top.
