Many companies are concerned that while Linux is essentially free, it will end up costing them more in the long run becuase of a short supply of Linux administrators and developers. Fortunately, that is not the case.

Linux training is offered at many, many schools now, and many companies report that existing UNIX skills were easily transferrable to Linux. Interviews with Linux users revealed that sending five full-time employees to Linux training costs less than $6,000.

Add to that the enormous amount of technical information available in the public realm and the abundance of third-party support options and you will see that Linux skills are easily transferred, purchased or grown.
