Thirteen Random Facts About Me

1. I am compulsive and irrational, except when I am compulsive and rational.
2. I had a lawyer earlier than most people. As a matter of fact, I had a lawyer before I could say “lawyer”.
3. I have one brother and one sister. They should receive medals of commendation, along with my parents, for living in the same house with me as a child.
4. I like dogs and I have two; named Ursa and Gibson. Ursa is named for her breeder, whose nickname is Bear. Gibson is named for a science fiction author. Both of them are in desperate need of training.
5. I like cats too, and have two as well; named Oscar and Flannery. Oscar is named for Oscar Wilde, and Flannery for Ms. O’Conner.
6. I am a complete and utter cynic, except about projects and ideas that I dreamed up, which makes me kind of obnoxious.
7. I miss having a fish tank or two (or three or four). Fish tanks are my Zen gardens.
8. I have had a rather large number of jobs. I have cooked in many fast food and short-order restaurants, cooked in a few good restaurants, demolished buildings, been a body piercer, web designer, meat packer, delivery driver, field chemist, valet, car-wash attendant, bartender, and much much more!
9. I have never broken a bone in my body – but not for lack of trying!
10. I do not like start-and-stop sports such as football and baseball – I much prefer sports that require endurance, such as soccer, hockey, and to a lesser degree, basketball.
11. I love Moleskine notebooks.
12. I am obsessed with coffee. I roast my own coffee at home and source green coffee beans from around the world.
13. My musical tastes are too eclectic to even be described. I own recordings from every major and almost every minor genres and sub-genre of music ever performed, from medieval madrigals to experimental techno, and everything in between.
