Logos are the heraldry of the new feudalism. The serfs and commoners advertise their loyaties, badge themselves vassals, and happily pay for the priviledge of wearing their chosen master’s livery. They create micro-social orders based on the perceived cost and power of their purchased logo-status, by their customer affiliations. They are happy to hear themselves no longer referred to as people, but as consumers; thereby proving their importantance, their purchasing power.

If you remove logos from your possessions, particularly clothing, or purposefully buy items without logos, you will be noticed. Your political and/or social motives will be questioned and discussed. You see, our lives are so closely monitored by our fellows that nothing is too small, too subtle to escape the ever-judging eye. they scrutinize us and each other in search of clues to our, and their, place in the consumer food hierarchy.

To them, rebellion is choosing different, but equally costly and status-laden labels, from those immediately surrounding you, so someone without labels and logos at all is an anomaly. Sloganless, you have become an outsider, not worthy of their attention, or even their derision - you simply cease to exist in their minds.

Thanks! Now, if only I were employed by some university - I could get paid for stuff like that :)
