The following was originally published in the German pipe-smokers publication Pfeifenbox. While some may bemoan the passing of the great blends of yesteryear, or the changing of hallowed, ancient formulae, I personally believe that modern pipe smokers are just now entering a renaissance in pipe tobacco blending, one that promises great things for all fans of the leaf, whether they be active or passive participants in that renaissance.
